Taylor Vernon pips Tyrone Cleaver to the Post
2005 Harglo-Performance BSMA Auto Championship clinched at final roundTyrone Cleaver’s win in the fifth and final round of the 2005 Harglo-Performance BSMA Championship was not enough to prevent Taylor Vernon from securing the Championship when he finished a convincing second on the day. Greg Evans, who had been leading the championship at the start of the day, was plagued with problems on his KTM during practice and eventually borrowed Cleaver’s spare machine for the races. A DNF in Race One, followed by difficulties in coming to terms with an unfamiliar bike, conspired to cost him points and resulted in a respectable third in the championship at the end of the day. Tyrone Cleaver, however, had an outstanding day; consistent and very fast, he took the win for the round and with 2 years ahead of him in the Auto class, he will be the lad to watch. The championship was decided in the final race of the day, when Taylor Vernon’s consistently high point scoring won through. “We’d like to congratulate not only the winners but all the other competitors too, for giving their best and making the championship so enjoyable” says Harglo’s Alan Collins. “They’re a great bunch of lads. We also need to thank their parents, because we know how much time and effort they put in.” FINALLY, THANKS TO RUTH & KEITH LUCE, AND THE BSMA, FOR RUNNING AN EXCELLENT HARGLO CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES IN 2005 FINAL CHAMPIONSHIP RESULTS
